Fireworks, drones, alcohol, music licences — and who actually handles them.
Six paperwork items can derail a palace wedding in the final 30 days. Five of them the palace handles; one of them is on you. Here's who owns what.
Fireworks
Palace handles. State pyrotechnic licence is held by the palace; aerial display cutoff is 9pm in Rajasthan, 10pm in Maharashtra, 9:30pm in Telangana. Confirm the cutoff in writing — many couples discover it at the rehearsal.
Drones
Couple/photographer handles. DGCA Digital Sky portal, 21-day clearance minimum, photographer's pilot licence required. Without this you'll have a ₹1 L drone sitting on the ground.
Alcohol
Palace handles in most states. Gujarat is the exception — guests need individual L-permits (the palace can arrange for foreign-passport-holders only). Plan a dry wedding in Gujarat or move it to a neighbouring state.
Live music after 10pm
Palace handles. Most palaces have a permanent licence; some don't. If your sangeet runs to 2am, get this in writing.
Foreign guest visas
Couple handles. e-Visa works for 167 countries but takes 4 days; standard visa is 4–8 weeks. Send the visa letter from the palace (not from you) — it carries more weight at consulates.
